Known mainly as the manufacturer of authentic chrome on brass windscreens (windshields) for the ever popular Cobra, the most replicated car in the world, Dave supplies many brightwork parts for these cars.
These cobra windscreens have been produced since 1987, and handmade to a very high standard using specially extruded brass channel. All glass has UK/USA approval including the necessary E markings etc. The glass is available in clear, tint or top tint finishes.
These can be either SVA (single vehicle approval) compliant for the UK/Europe market, or totally as original for the rest of the world.
Dave also offers a full reglazing and/or rechroming service for anyone unfortunate enough to require this.
Additional to the windscreens Autobrass supplies many ancillary items for the windscreen and other brightwork necessary to complete the cobra replica, or even refurbishment of original cobras.
These include glass windwings, with chrome on brass hinges, held together with stainless steel fastenings. Likewise the sun visors, usually produced in perspex (plastiglass) of blue or charcoal, but other colours are sometimes available.
Other windscreen ancillaries
are the escutcheon plates made from stainless steel and chrome on brass
windscreen tensioner, complete with centre bracket and specially modified
stainless steel screws adjusted to fit exactly through the bracket
for the tensioner, and the mounting centre bracket for the windscreen
without breaking the glass inside! A mirror for this centre stay can
also be provided.
The metalwork for hoods (soft-tops) comprising our own specially made hood (soft-top) bows, which fit directly onto the top of the windscreen. Also included in a hood kit are hood frame and hood catches. The hood themselves are made to fit individual cars by trimmers (usually local to car owner/builder).
We also offer a ‘universal' side screen. When this is provided it is ‘unfinished'. All kit manufacturers have different door sizes, and therefore very little ‘after market' goods are actually universal, but as this is unfinished it has to be cut to size, making it universal.
Additional brightwork required for the completion of the replica cobra includes front and rear bumpers and over-riders. Our over-riders are made using our own tooling, and manufactured within the UK . These have been adapted to be SVA compliant without the use of rubber trims or other temporary fixings, they do pass SVA testing as standard!!!
We also produce a fitting kit comprising studding, stainless steel tubing and all nuts and bolts etc to fit the bumpers and over-riders to the car, hassle free!
We also supply side vents for the wings of
the cobra. The sizing is correct, although the vent space provided
by several manufacturers is not, so if these are required it is recommended
that they be fitted, or at least bought and the measurements allowed
for, before the final painting of the car.

When building a kit car many people like to purchase the authentic badges for cobras, we supply both bonnet and boot badges along with side wing badges for 427 and 289 (powered by Ford). These should not be fitted to cars, however, they are merely for decorative use only.
